‘Survivor 46’ deleted scene: Charlie on how immunity necklaces are both ‘defensive and offensive’ [WATCH]

In this week’s “Survivor 46” deleted scene (watch above), the remaining seven castaways are preparing for the imminent reward/immunity challenge that involves the “deft touch” of maneuvering a ball around a snake-shaped maze. As viewers know, Maria Shrime Gonzalez went on to win that challenge, but the clip focuses on Charlie Davis‘ explanation in a confessional about why he wants to claim a third immunity necklace.

“My last pump-up song on my Taylor playlist is ‘Read For It,'” declares Charlie, aka the biggest Taylor Swift fan in “Survivor” history. “And today I am ready for it. Whatever it is, I’m gonna go out there and compete and I’m gonna be looking at everyone next to me and I want to cross the finish line first.”

At the water well, Charlie, Venus Vafa, Ben Katzman and Kenzie Petty talk about how they’re “excited” for the challenge and that it’s still “anyone’s game.”

Charlie continues on, “I think people underestimate the power of the necklace. The necklace is defensive and offensive, so I want to wear it as much as I possibly can. I think people see immunity wins as, ‘Oh, you were just safe that vote, so you didn’t have to do much work.’ No. I see the necklace as the wooden spoon. I can stir the pot a little harder and I can have way more influence.”

The 26-year-old law student from Boston adds, “And it keeps plans alive. If I’m looking over and I’m competing against who I think could be a target, I’m never going to let go and I’m gonna compete to my absolute limit.”

The deleted scene concludes with Charlie readily admitting, “I’m ready to go for three. I want to be safe tonight and I want to be able to steer a little bit more strongly.”

Of the Final 6 players, Charlie and Maria are tied with the most individual immunity wins at two apiece, while Kenzie is right behind them at one. The other three contestants — Ben, Q Burdette and Liz Wilcox — have yet to wear the necklace.
