In the first stage of the competition, Jeff Probst separated the 18 castaways into three tribes: Lulu, Belo and Reba. Lulu by far was the weakest of the three tribes … and it wasn’t even close. In fact, two of the original Lulu players essentially threw in the towelHannah Rose, who actually quit, and Sean Edwards, who did receive a proper vote-out. Two additional Lulu castaways, Brandon Donlon and Sabiyah Broderick, were also booted during the first few weeks.

The only other person to leave Season 45 when there were still three tribes was Brando Meyer, who was betrayed by Emily after she swapped over to his Belo camp. That cemented Emily’s place at Belo alongside her new allies, Austin and Drew. Brando’s elimination left just 13 people in the game, and all of them were soon told, “Drop your buffs,” as the merge was on the horizon.

J. Maya Krishnan-Jha was booted during the “mergatory” phase of the game, and only during a revote after Kaleb initially used his Shot in the Dark correctly, which negated all of the votes cast against him. After J. Maya left tribal council, the remaining 12 people were finally informed that they had officially made the merge for Season 45.

One day after the official merge, both Sifu Alsup and Kaleb Gebrewold were voted out after Jeff randomly divided the players into two groups. Kaleb became the first member of the jury, and he was soon joined by Kellie Nalbandian in an epic blindside over Jake. Next to leave the show, in order, were Kendra McQuarrie, Bruce Perreault, Emily Flippen and Drew Basile.
