‘Survivor 45’ preview: Kellie Nalbandian is ‘hoping to exploit’ being underestimated [WATCH]

“Survivor 45” contestant Kellie Nalbandian, like many others, prepared her mind and her body in order to compete at a top level in the game. The 30-year-old nurse from New York shows off her biceps and says that for her “it’s a big deal” that she has muscle to show. Watch their full CBS interview below.

Kellie goes on to say that when people find out she’s a nurse the perception is of “nice ladies who give you saltines and ginger ale when your tummy hurts,” but her actual career could not be more different from that. She describes the places she works, like the emergency room, as requiring her to “be calm, adaptable, rational and emotionally intelligent under tons of stress and chaos.” For Kellie, if anyone wants to underestimate her because she’s a nurse then “that’s to their peril” because she’s “hoping to exploit that.”

Superfans will already know that a lesbian-identifying player has never won the show and Kellie is also specifically aware of this stat because “absolutely intends to be the first.” She explains that “there is a struggle that comes with finding your identity and being authentic out here goes a long way” because, she adds, “that’s what gets people to trust you.”
