‘Survivor 45’ preview: Bruce Perreault wants to ‘not be dad’ this time around [WATCH]

Survivor 45” contestant Bruce Perreault says he was seen as a “father figure” during his first season, but wants to switch things up this time around. The 47 year old insurance agent from Rhode Island was on “Survivor 44,” but only for the premiere where he suffered a head injury in the very first challenge that saw him medically evacuated from the game. Now he’s back! Watch their full CBS interview below.

When asked if he thinks he has an advantage, Bruce asks “How much of an advantage could I possibly have?” considering he was only in the game for about 12 hours last time. He describes how in those 12 hours he was seen as a “father figure,” but this time he wants to be known as “Uncle Bruce.” He says, “The dad is the one who puts down all the rules, but the uncle’s who you go talk to and have a conversation with about how dumb your dad’s being.”

One could assume that Bruce would come into the game scared of getting hurt again, but he says that he’s “not gonna let fear and the past dictate what is happening because if [he] plays scared or plays afraid or any way other than what [he’s] supposed to play then why is [he there]?”
