‘Survivor 45’ fans name Austin Li Coon and Emily Flippen as their favorite players in the Top 8 [POLL RESULTS]

And then there were eight. All week long, Gold Derby readers have been voting for their favorite players remaining on “Survivor 45,” and things are looking good for Austin Li Coon and Emily Flippen. These two castaways started out on opposite tribes (he on Reba, she on Lulu), but they met up at the tribe swap and have been working together ever since.

Note that Austin and Emily are the only two people in the Top 8 to receive more than 15% support in our poll results. Here are the final numbers:

On paper, Austin seems to be in the best position in the entire game because he has a numbers advantage (four Reba players, plus Emily) as well as two hidden immunity idols. He found the Beware Advantage idol in the pre-swap part of the game thanks to the help of Dee, Julie and Drew. And he came into possession of a second idol when J. Maya Krishnan-Jha and Kellie Nalbandian opted for amulets instead of sandwiches; by voting both of them out, Austin’s amulet turned into an idol.

Emily has played an entirely different game so far, going to every single tribal council except for two and surviving each time thanks solely to her social abilities. The tribe swap brought her into an alliance with Austin and Drew, but now that the merged tribe’s numbers are dwindling, she is starting to wonder whether she can continue trusting them, or if they’ll go “Reba strong” and stick with Dee and Julie instead.
