“Survivor 45” deleted scene shows Bruce struggling on the island

Bruce Perreault wants everyone to know he is not the dad on the Belo tribe of Survivor 45. Instead, he's just crazy uncle Bruce! Look, there he is doing the Robot! And now he's playing peekaboo in a boat! And now he's telling everyone that weaving palm fronds is useless, which doesn't seem particularly crazy or uncle-ish, but whatever!
However, it's not all fun and games and telling people what to do for Bruce out on the island. Because as a new exclusive deleted scene reveals, he is also feeling the physical effects of having limited food. The scene — which can be watched above — begins with the Belo tribe opening up a cryptic Tree Mail message warning them of the upcoming immunity challenge — a challenge that has Bruce worried due to his current condition.

"If we lose today, Jeff takes the flint," Bruce says to the camera. "Mentally, I'm ready. Physically…." He then shakes his head in the negative. "I want to be able to contribute as much as humanly possible, and I know with a lack of energy… like, right now I'm at 40 percent of my game, physically."
And his tribemates are starting to notice. "Bruce is the most energetic 46-year-old I've ever met in my entire life," current president of the Bruce Perreault fan club, Jake O'Kane, says. "But I was looking at him and he was slowing down, and that's not Bruce." (Also, does Jake think most 46-year-olds are bedridden in their impossibly old age or something?)
Beyond the personal concern for Bruce, there was the immunity challenge to worry about, and those two things were linked. "Bruce is an asset physically in challenges," Jake explains. "And we need it. So if we lose the immunity challenge, our flint is out of here. If we lose flint, we lose fire, we lose fresh drinking water, you stop eating, you stop drinking water."
Of course, Jake forgot that they were competing against the self-proclaimed Lulu Losers tribe, so defeat was not a realistic possibility, and indeed Belo ended up just seconds away from winning the challenge, and well ahead of last place Lulu.
