Ryan Murphy Productions has dropped a teaser on Instagram for a previously unannounced FX series titled “Grotesquerie.” The promo, which was uploaded to the shingle’s account on Friday, described it as a “new horror drama series” that will premiere this fall.

The teaser didn’t contain any footage, and only flashed the names of cast members Niecy Nash-Betts, Courtney B. Vance and Lesley Manville over a black screen as Nash-Betts’ voice delivered a monologue, seemingly over a phone call.

“I don’t know what’s started. I can’t put my finger on it. But it’s different now,” she said in the clip. “There’s been a shift. It’s like something’s opening up in the world. A kind of hole to the center of nothingness.

“What I saw today — they sent shrinks for everyone who worked this crime scene,” the voiceover continued. “You say, ‘Well, hon, evil has always existed.’ And cite some statistic about how the world’s getting better, less murder, more help, less global horror, never been a better time to be alive.

“Come back. It’s not getting better,” she finished. “And I keep needing to hear your answers, because something’s happening around us, and nobody sees but me.”

Plot and character details were not yet available for “Grotesquerie,” as the teaser only indicated Murphy’s involvement, the cast members and the fall premiere window. FX did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

“Grotesquerie” would rep Murphy’s second new project and first original for FX since setting an overall deal at Disney after his Netflix deal expired in June. In December, it was announced that Murphy would collaborate with Kim Kardashian on a legal drama for Hulu.

Murphy’s relationship with FX reaches back to 2003’s “Nip/Tuck.” He continues to produce the anthology series “American Horror Story,” “American Crime Story” and “Feud” for FX, as well as the upcoming “American Sports Story.”
