What happened in last week's episode of When Calls the Heart?

In "When Stars Align," the Season 11 premiere of When Calls the Heart, Lucas (Chris McNally) was shot on election night, but by who? Once news reached Hope Valley, Bill (Jack Wagner) and Elizabeth (Erin Krakow) raced to Lucas' side. It took several months for him to recover, but he seemed to be just fine though he had no memory of the attack.

During those four months, Nathan (Kevin McGarry) was off investigating the shooting. Clayton Pike, a seasonal worker (and sometimes poet) was captured. Though Pike confessed to the crime, neither Nathan nor Bill believed he was the man guilty of pulling the trigger.

Rosemary (Pascale Hutton) seemed more annoyed she got scooped by the Benson Hills Beetle and insisted Nathan give her an exclusive interview while Mei (Amanda Wong) and Mike (Ben Rosenbaum) seemed to be getting closer. Faith (Andrea Brooks) took on a new patient, Dora Watson (Miriam Smith) and was later left to care for her Dora's granddaughter, Lily (Chloe McKinnon) while she undergoes treatment in the hospital.

Lucas summoned Henry (Martin Cummis) to offer him a position on his staff. Henry, looking happier than ever, politely declines. Looks like his visit with Abigail (Lori Loughlin) seemed to have gone well!

Though the biggest Heartie news was probably who was absent from Hope Valley. Turns out Fiona (Kayla Wallace) had decided to stay in Nashville to help with the Women's Suffrage Movement. Kayla Wallace, the actress who plays Fiona, had scheduling conflicts and was written out of season 11. Wallace is currently filming the new Taylor Sheridan series, Landman, whose cast includes Billy Bob Thornton, Jon Hamm, and Demi Moore.
