A Surfer Got Bit By A Shark And Went Straight To A Bar Instead Of The Hospital

You can't fault his priorities.

A Painful Shark Attack

A fun day at the beach can quickly turn into a nightmare when sharks get involved. Such an event happened to Frank O'Rourke, a surfer in Jacksonville, Florida, who was attacked by a shark on Saturday morning while he was surfing near the local pier.

A Terrifying Ordeal

The 23-year-old managed to fight the shark off after it latched onto his elbow. His friend RJ Berger told WJXT:

"It was kind of panic, like, 'Did that just happen?' It kind of took him a couple seconds to gather himself and realize, 'Wow, I just got bit by a shark'."

A Surfer's Priorities

You would think that the first stop after such an attack would be the hospital, right? Wrong. According to Berger, the first thing that O'Rourke did was head straight to the bar to parlay his wound into some free drinks.

"He immediately went to a bar 'cause he was like, 'I got bit by a shark,' and people were like, 'I'll buy you drinks.' So he went and hung out at the pier."
