Supernatural Thriller Produced By Blumhouse Television Gets Pilot Order By NBCUniversal Cable

NBCUniveral Cable Entertainment’s Entertainment Networks Group, composed of USA and Syfy, have ordered a pilot for supernatural thriller Run for Your Life, from Universal TV and Blumhouse Television.

Run for Your Life is centered on the last night of Dia de Los Muertos (aka Day of the Dead), when a grieving detective is thrust into a deadly game to bring someone back from the dead. Should the pilot be ordered to series, the network on which it would air would be determined at that time.

The series is based on an idea from Emmy-winning producer Lee Metzger (The Voice) and is one of several projects for which he serves as an executive producer through his Universal Television overall deal. The pilot comes from the write-/producer team of Chris Cullari and Jennifer Raite (12 Deadly Days), who will serve as co-executive producers. Patricia Riggen (The 33) is set to direct and co-executive produce the pilot. Jason Blum, Jeremy Gold, Marci Wiseman and Jessica Rhoades will serve as executive producers for Blumhouse.

Josh Segarra (Arrow) is set to star as Julian Silva alongside Andrew Jacobs (Paranormal Activity: Marked Ones) as Victor Macias, Carlos Leal (The Last Ship) as Yellow Skull, Danube Hermosillo (Everything, Everything) as Lia Macias, Angela Alvarado (Kingpin) as Elena Macias, Jennifer Landon (Animal Kingdom) as Detective Rachel Spokes, Kadeem Hardison (K.C. Undercover) as Captain Gilbert “Gil” Barnes and Fernanda Andrade (The Devil Inside Me) as Mariana Silva.
