Super rare Final Jeopardy! has fans asking if history was made

Tuesday’s “Jeopardy!” surprised host Alex Trebek and left fans wondering if they were witnessing history as one contestant had negative money while another had zero dollars heading into Final Jeopardy!. With two contestants unable to place a wager in the final round, only one contestant took part in that portion of the show. “The stage looks like a really lonely place right now,” Trebek said to remaining contestant Kevin Walsh. “I cannot recall the last time we had only one player in Final Jeopardy!.” According to Twitter, the super rare solo Final Jeopardy! was a big deal for fans. One viewer tweeted, “Only one person qualified for Final Jeopardy! and my family screamed for 30 seconds straight.”

- This super rare solo Final Jeopardy was a big deal for fans with one viewer tweeting, "only one person qualified for Final Jeopardy and my family screamed for 30 seconds straight." Much to the fans disappointment, the reigning champion Kevin Walsh only bid $4,400 on the final clue, which he got right. And while it was an embarrassing night for the other two contestants, at least one of them got a laugh out of Alex with a funny story about Seth Rogen.

KEVIN WALSH: I moved to Los Angeles and was happen to be at a bar where Seth Rogen also was, and I broke the Cardinal LA rule and went up to him and said, I'm so sorry to bother you, but everybody has always told me-- and he cut me off and went, oh, yeah, you really do.
