Sunburn Festival Founder Shailendra Singh Launches Guestlist-For-Good Charity Event
There are 84 million children in India that do not go to school, a tragic statistic that has Sunburn Festival founder Shailendra Singh all shook up and ready to make moves.
"That is just unacceptable," Singh says. "The time to make a difference, is now."
Singh recently posted a countdown clock on guestlist4good.com, and when it runs out on Dec. 1, 2017, Singh will cut the figurative red ribbon on what he hopes to be "the biggest entertainment for good event on the planet." It's three days of music and positivity called Guestlist-For-Good, and it's not Singh's first charitable offering.
He broke into the giving game with Hardwell for the World's Biggest Guestlist, wherin he invited 100,000 fans to party for free, turning over all indoor-sales profits to help educate 18,200 children through the Magic Bus program. He followed with a second World's Biggest Guestlist event with Martin Garrix in late 2016, raising enough to reportedly pull 10,000 children out of poverty. Again, his #Guetta4Good concert with David Guetta later this month aims to educate 10,000 more.
"Music has the power to make a social difference," Singh says. "In 2017, our goal is much bigger. So big, we've even renamed ourselves ... in order to prove that we have a clear, focused mission."
That mission, Singh says, is simple. "Entertain. Educate. Empower."
"Entertainment with a heart, in India, for India, by uniting world," Singh says. "Through global events with a heart, we will revolutionize live entertainment for fans around the world. While doing this, with the help of domestic and international artists, we raise money to educate hundreds of thousands of children through the Magic bus programme, and through Guestlist4Good, we are empowering artists and fans to make a social difference, just by doing what they love to do anyway."
