Sun Ra Arkestra Announce First New Album in Over 20 Years, Share New Song: Listen
This October, Sun Ra Arkestra are releasing their first new studio album since 1999’s A Song for the Sun. The as-yet-untitled record will arrive via Strut. Below, check out the Arkestra’s “Seductive Fantasy,” which is a new version of an original composition by Sun Ra that was first recorded for 1979’s On Jupiter. The track arrives with a music video animated by Chad VanGaalen.
Sun Ra Arkestra recorded their new album at Rittenhouse Soundworks in Philadelphia. The record was engineered, produced, and mixed by Jim Hamilton and longtime Arkestra leader Marshall Allen.
