Belly, Conrad, and Jeremiah will have 11 episodes to work through their love triangle drama.

Don’t expect a return to Cousins Beach this year: The Summer I Turned Pretty is taking a summer off.

Amazon has announced that season 3 of the hit YA series is on the way, but won't be back on screens until 2025.

On the bright side, when Belly (Lola Tung), Conrad (Christopher Briney), and Jeremiah (Gavin Casalegno) finally do return, it’ll be with three extra episodes of summer fun — and messy relationship drama. The upcoming season will consist of 11 episodes, a new high after seasons one and two featured seven and eight installments, respectively.

The series — adapted from Jenny Han’s beloved book trilogy — follows teenager Isabel "Belly" Conklin as she spends summers in a cozy beach town while navigating a love triangle between her childhood friends, brothers Conrad and Jeremiah.

In the season 2 finale, Belly chose to pursue a relationship with Jeremiah, just as she does in the second book,  It's Not Summer Without You. After a season full of grieving, she ended on a joyful note — attending volleyball camp with friends while her new boyfriend looked on with pride.

In the aftermath of the second season, Han told Entertainment Weekly that it was a relief to see Belly finally in a better place.

"I really loved seeing her being able to come out of her grief and smile again and have lightness and joy again," Han said. "Her relationship with Jeremiah has always brought her a lot of happiness — it's almost like permission to be happy again at the end of the season. She's been punishing herself for some time now, and she's forgiving herself in many ways. It's a step towards living again because she's been under a cloud for a long time.”

Tung agreed: “She wants someone who's going to fight for her, and in that moment, Jeremiah is that right choice and the choice that will allow her to be happy without the drama of it."

But as book readers know too well, the love triangle isn’t yet resolved. Season 3 will presumably adapt the final book in the trilogy, We’ll Always Have Summer. But whether or not this will also mark the end of the series has yet to be revealed.
