Summer Street Dance Series returns to Coshocton's artPARK with dance instructor Tim Cohen

COSHOCTON − The Pomerene Center for the Arts has announced the line up for its third annual Summer Street Dance Series at the artPARK on Main Street, across from the Coshocton Court Square.

Dance classes with instructor Tim Cohen will start at 7 p.m. Rudimentary dance steps will be introduced relating to the music being played that evening. Cohen currently lives in Coshocton and has taught dance in Columbus and Millersburg.

Entertainment includes tango with the Dave Schubach Quintet on June 7, polka with the Chardon Polka Band on June 21, Latin jazz for salsa dancing with Yumbambe on July 5, big band music for swing dancing with the Lake Park Big Band on July 19 and Scottish and baroque reels for English country dancing with Les Delices on Sept. 18.

The Pomerene Center has received a $9,400 grant from the John D. O’Shea and Kathleen E. O’Shea Revocable Trust at the Coshocton Foundation to support the series.

Events will be on alternative Fridays to concerts by the Coshocton Community Band on the Coshocton Court Square. According to a press release, The Pomerene Center for the Arts it's working with the Coshocton County Commissioners on growing free music concerts in Downtown Coshocton.

Our Town Coshocton and the City of Coshocton is partnering for the third annual summer concert series on the court square as well. Acts are Invincible, a Pat Benatar tribute, on June 22, Adrenalize, a Def Leppard tribute, on July 20, Beginnings, a Chicago tribute, on Aug. 3 and Southern Accents, a tribute to Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers, on Sept. 8.
