Summer movie deals for families to enjoy in El Paso

El Paso families can stay cool and save money this summer with special movie clubs at local theaters. Participating theaters will offer popular children's movies at a discount or free, along with deals on snacks.

Premiere Cinemas, at Bassett Place, has showings at 10 a.m. and 11 a.m. on Wednesdays and Thursdays on the following dates:

  • June 21-22: "Bad Guys"

  • June 28-29: "Minions: Rise of Gru"

  • July 5-6: "Paws of Fury"

  • July 12-13: "Sonic the Hedgehog 2"

  • July 19-20: "Lyle, Lyle Crocodile"

  • July 26-27: "Puss in Boots: The Last Wish"

Cinemark has Summer Movie Clubhouse

Cinemark's Summer Movie Clubhouse program is back, giving families in El Paso and around the United States the opportunity to see movies for $1.50 each, beginning later this week. The $1.50 ticket price does not include taxes and fees.

The Summer Movie Clubhouse will run for eight weeks through Aug. 10, with showtimes every Wednesday at 9:30 a.m. There also will be discounts for kid-size snacks during each showtime.

Parents can save money on concessions during the Summer Movie Clubhouse showtimes by getting $1 off on any size of popcorn, drinks, and kids' snack packs.

Here's this summer's Summer Movie Clubhouse lineup:

  • June 21: "Minions: the Rise of Gru"

  • June 28: "Sonic the Hedgehog"

  • July 5: "Mummies"

  • July 12: "The Bad Guys"

  • July 19: "Paws of Fury: The Legend of Hank"

  • July 26: "DC League of Super-Pets"

  • Aug. 2: "Lyle, Lyle, Crocodile"

  • Aug. 9: "Puss in Boots: The Last Wish"

Alamo Drafthouse offers $5 movies

The Alamo Drafthouse, with two locations in El Paso, offers affordable family movies this summer. The theaters are at 12351 Pellicano Dr. on East Side and 250 East Montecillo Blvd. on West Side.

The Kids Camp tickets are $5 for everyone, with most screenings for ages 3 and up.

Moves being shown include "The Mitchells VS The Machines," "Batman" Mask of the Phantasm," "The Land Before Time," "DC League of Super-Pets," "Babe: Pig in the City," "Free Willy," "How to Train your Dragon 2" and "Trolls World Tour."
