It's not just a concert, it's a "Happening."

Glen Burtnik’s Summer of Love Concert takes place at 7:30 p.m. Friday at the Count Basie Center for the Arts in Red Bank.

Described as a "rock festival on one stage, in one night," the show celebrates the classic rock and soul of the 1960s and '70s — music of the Woodstock generation.

Sixteen performers — vocalists, a horn section, strings, keyboards, and a rock rhythm section — re-create the songs and the "psychedelically flavored spirit," a release says.

Asbury Park benefit at the Stone Pony

The Stone Pony in Asbury Park will be rocking so the kids in the city can get playing this summer.

The bi-annual Rock 'n' Roll Recreation show, presented by Asbury Park Mayor John Moor to raise funds for city summer recreation programs, is set for 6 p.m. Thursday.
