Sum 41 singer Deryck Whibley has shared an update on his health after being discharged from the hospital where he was receiving treatment for pneumonia.

In an Instagram post Tuesday, the Canadian singer, 43, said that he’s “not out of the woods yet” but is “staying positive.”

“I wanted to take a min to say thank you to everyone for so much love and support,” he wrote. “Although I’m not out of the woods of this pneumonia yet and have been told to be prepared for a bit of roller coaster sickness over the next couple of weeks, I’m staying positive and doing my best to get through all of this.”

Whibley went on to reveal that while he is no longer in the hospital, he is “still bedridden” and “having a hard time breathing, tight chest pains and some pretty wild fever dreams, that I guess are keeping this whole thing somewhat entertaining.”

He continued, “I’m in the best hands and am on the right medicine. I plan on being my absolute best for When We Were Young next month. That’s my goal. Thank you, so much love ❤️ Deryck.”

Sum 41 are set to perform at the When We Were Young Festival in Las Vegas on Oct. 20.

Whibley’s latest update comes after his wife Ariana Cooper Whibley revealed that he’d been discharged from the hospital after “responding so well to his treatments” in an Instagram post Saturday.

“I'm very happy to be giving this update,” the 32-year-old model wrote alongside a snapshot of some flowers and framed photos of the couple and their children, son Lydon Idby, 3, and daughter Quentin Arlo, 6 months.

“Deryck was discharged after responding so well to his treatments,” she continued. “He is now under the care of his mother who is a registered nurse and myself. The pressure and strain on his heart and lungs has improved and he is able to breathe without as much pain."

“I can't tell you how truly grateful we are for the community around us,” she added. “We knew we had support but the outpouring of love for our family has been absolutely overwhelming and we can't begin to say how much it has meant to us and helped us stay positive through this.”

Ariana first revealed her musician husband had been hospitalized with pneumonia on Sept. 15.

"Deryck and I were suppose to be in Chicago right now, celebrating our eight year wedding anniversary but the universe had a different plan for us," she wrote in an Instagram post, which featured pictures of her holding Deryck’s hand on a hospital bed and him being wheeled into an ambulance.

"We spent the entire night in the ER and will now be spending the next few days here in the hospital as he fights through pneumonia,” Ariana continued. “The scariest part is that there is a lot of strain on his heart and they are telling us that there is a possibility of heart failure. This is obviously not our first time in a situation like this but it brings back a lot of really difficult memories seeing him back in a hospital bed connected to wires and IVs."

"I know how strong he is because I have witnessed what he has been able to overcome but that doesn't make it any easier to see. I'll do my best to keep everyone updated but if you could keep him in your heart over the next few days, we could really use it," she concluded her post.

Deryck and Ariana tied the knot in August 2015 in a ceremony at the Hotel Bel Air in Los Angels.

The year before their wedding, Deryck collapsed in his kitchen and was rushed to the hospital, where he spent a month for alcohol intoxication. Doctors said he was experiencing liver and kidney failure and he was placed in a coma and sedated for a week to help his body detox.

Deryck’s health scare and Ariana’s depression and suicide attempt in 2013 led to the couple getting sober together, with Deryck previously telling people in 2021, "We said, 'We're going to take our lives seriously at this point and figure this s--- out.’ ”
