Rick Hoffman is clearing the air about his viral wedding face nearly six years later!

The Suits star, 53, appeared on a new episode of Chicks in the Office this week, where he revealed the reasoning for his viral expression during co-star Meghan Markle's wedding to Prince Harry in May 2018.

During the royal wedding, Hoffman was caught on camera with what he described as an "awful face," which he now reveals was a reaction to something he smelled.

"As time goes on, I'm starting to smell something really terrible and foul, and I'm very sensitive when it comes to that so I start to try to do this," Hoffman said while covering his face. "Because I have a coconut vanilla moisturizer, and I like to try to cut it. How can I help getting away from this goofy face?"

Before Hoffman got a whiff of whatever he smelled, he was sitting near fellow Suits star Sarah Rafferty, who he said he likes to "mess around" with. As he explained, he was "doing something ridiculous" to get a reaction out of Rafferty, before she told him to "cut it out."

Eventually, after smelling the "foul" scent, Hoffman "went over to" his friends. "Because I don't want them to think it's me because I'm so particular when it comes to hygiene," he joked.

"So I'm like, 'Do you guys smell that?' And they're like, 'No.' So now I'm like literally by myself and I'm just going, 'Mother...,'" Hoffman said. "And that's what they got [on camera]."

"Guess who knew that the most in the cast that I had an issue with other people's hygiene?" Hoffman asked, before answering himself: "Meghan! Always knew and would always laugh about how I was so sensitive."

Last month, members of the Suits cast reunited for both an appearance at the 2024 Golden Globes and as part of an e.l.f. Cosmetics Super Bowl ad. PEOPLE also confirmed this month that Suits spinoff, Suits L.A., will be getting a pilot at NBCUniversal. The original series ran for 9 seasons from 2011 to 2019.

At the Globes, actor Patrick J. Adams — who played Mike Ross in the show — told ET during a red carpet pre-show that the new series was "all in early stages," and even weighed in on if he thinks Meghan will be making any appearances.

"Sure. Mike and Rachel in Seattle. They gotta come down to L.A., they gotta fix some stuff," he shared of a potential plot line.

"She's pretty popular right now," he joked. "Did you hear about Meghan? I'll tell you later."

The next Suits project will feature a new cast and tell the story of Ted Black, a "former federal prosecutor from New York" who "must embrace a role he held in contempt his entire career," per a logline. Suits: L.A. is scheduled to begin production in late March in Vancouver, Canada.

"Our fearless showrunner Aaron [Korsh]'s working on that. And if we got the phone call, if I got the phone call, I'm ready to suit up again. I love the show, I love the character. And I loved working with all these people," Adams said at the Globes.
