Harvey Specter and Mike Ross were among the characters welcome at Sunday’s Golden Globe Awards, as Gabriel Macht and Patrick J. Adams — along with Suits co-stars Gina Torres and Sarah Rafferty — made a special appearance at the 81st annual Globes ceremony.

“There’s nothing more dramatic or anxiety-inducing than waiting all night to hear that your category [has] finally arrived,” Macht said after taking the stage, to which Adams replied, “Yes, that’s true. It’s hard to imagine having to wait so long to see your show get that kind of recognition.”

It was, of course, a joke about Suits coming off of a record-breaking streaming year, thanks in large part to the former USA Network drama’s popularity on Netflix.

The renewed interest in the show has prompted the development of an offshoot at NBCUniversal. Series creator Aaron Korsh is currently at work on a new iteration that is neither a revival nor reboot, but rather an hour-long project “set in the Suits universe” that would revolve around new characters in a new location — possibly Los Angeles.

A series order is said to be imminent, although it remains unclear where the latest spinoff would land — although NBCU-owned Peacock seems a likely destination.

Former cast member Meghan Markle recently weighed in on the procedural’s unlikely success story, exclaiming, “Isn’t that wild?”
