The “Suits” spinoff pilot set in Los Angeles at NBC has cast Lex Scott Davis in a lead role, Variety has learned.

Davis joins previously announced cast members Stephen Amell and Josh McDermitt in the pilot, which looks to expand on the success of the USA Network series “Suits” following its remarkable resurgence on streaming in recent months.

The official description of the pilot states: “Ted Black (Amell), a former federal prosecutor from New York, has reinvented himself representing the most powerful clients in Los Angeles. His firm is at a crisis point, and in order to survive he must embrace a role he held in contempt his entire career. Ted is surrounded by a stellar group of characters who test their loyalties to both Ted and each other while they can’t help but mix their personal and professional lives. All of this is going on while events from years ago slowly unravel that led Ted to leave behind everything and everyone he loved.”

Davis will star as Erica Rollins, described as “a savvy and strong-willed rising star. Erica works for Ted Black. She’s shrewd enough to test the loyalty of her associates only to admire some of them for not having any.”

Davis has previously starred in series such as “Training Day” at CBS, “Rebel” at ABC, and “Florida Man” at Netflix. She is also known for her work in films like Lifetime’s “Unbreak My Heart” — in which she played Toni Braxton — as well as “Superfly,” “The First Purge,” and “Son of the South.”

She is repped byCAA, Entertainment 360 and Jackoway Austen Tyerman.

“Suits” creator Aaron Korsh is writing and executive producing the pilot, with David Bartis and Doug Liman of Hypnotic and Gene Klein also executive producing. Victoria Mahoney will direct and executive produce. UCP is the studio.
