Zoey’s Extraordinary Playlist alumna Alice Lee is once again lawyering up: The actress has joined the cast of NBC’s Suits: L.A. pilot, TVLine has learned exclusively. (Lee previously played corporate lawyer Emily Kang on the aforementioned musical dramedy.)

The potential spinoff — which was ordered to pilot at NBC in February — centers on Ted Black (Arrow’s Stephen Amell), a former federal prosecutor from New York who “has reinvented himself representing the most powerful clients in Los Angeles,” per the official synopsis. “His firm is at a crisis point, and in order to survive he must embrace a role he held in contempt his entire career.”

The ensemble also includes Josh McDermitt (The Walking Dead) as Stuart Lane, who joined up with his buddy Ted Black to build the L.A. firm, and Lex Scott Davis (The L Word: Generation Q) as Erica Rollins, a savvy and strong-willed rising star at the firm.

Lee will guest-star in the pilot — and recur if the project is ordered to series — as Leah, a young associate attorney at Black Lane Law who has been assigned to work with (or, as it turns out, for) entertainment attorney Erica Rollins.

Suits creator Aaron Korsh, who served as showrunner on all nine seasons of the USA Network drama, will pen the spinoff pilot and executive-produce alongside David Bartis, Doug Liman, Gene Klein and pilot director Victoria Mahoney.

Production is slated to begin in late March in Vancouver, Canada.
