‘Suite Life’ star Dylan Sprouse will serve as grand marshal for Indy 500

INDIANAPOLIS — A former Disney star will serve as the grand marshal of the 108th running of the Indianapolis 500.

Officials with the Indianapolis Motor Speedway announced on Friday that Dylan Sprouse will serve as the grand marshal for Sunday’s race. Sprouse will give the traditional command for drivers to report to their cars during the official pre-race ceremonies and will walk the Indy 500’s red carpet.

This comes after Sprouse was a part of “The Duel,” a film directed by Justin Matthews and Luke Spencer Roberts that was filmed throughout Indiana. The film, which is expected to be released this summer, follows two friends who settle their differences with an old-school duel.

“Dylan’s film ‘The Duel’ was partially filmed in the Hoosier State making him an ideal grand marshal for the Indy 500,” IMS President J. Douglas Boles said in the release. “The energy and excitement Dylan brings to his on-screen roles will be evident to both spectators at the track and everyone watching on NBC and Peacock as he commands drivers to their cars.”

Sprouse is mainly known for his role in Disney’s “Suite Life” series with his brother, Cole Sprouse. The two also starred in 1999’s “Big Daddy,” starring Adam Sandler.

Officials said Dylan Sprose will be joined at the race by the other cast members of “The Duel,” as well as his wife, Victoria Secret supermodel Barbara Palvin Sprouse.
