This is because the series has not yet been renewed or canceled by BBC One. Moreover, it seems unlikely that a second season will happen, given that A Suitable Boy was conceived as a miniseries. Furthermore, a second season does not seem to be needed as the story arcs of all core characters have been completed.
For instance, Lata Mehra chose her ideal partner out of all the three suitors and did not let her family influence her choice. Mahesh Kapoor lost the election after Maan stabbed his best friend out of jealousy. Maan, however, did not get a prison sentence after Firoz testified that he got accidentally stabbed. Saeeda Bai went back to her haveli and took up singing again, much to her daughter Tasneem’s pleasure. Additionally, the Kapoor family also reconciles with the Khan family and ends their enmity.
A Suitable Boy’s cast includes Tanya Maniktala, Ishaan Khatter, Rasika Dugal, Tabu, Ram Kapoor, Namit Das, Vijay Raaz, Vivaan Shah, and Randeep Hooda, among others.
