Suicide Squad's Jai Courtney teases Alita Battle Angel 2 in photo
Suicide Squad's Jai Courtney has got Alita: Battle Angel fans speculating that he's working on a sequel after posting a mysterious Instagram photo.
The actor had an uncredited cameo in the 2019 action movie as Motorball athlete Jashugan but speculation is now rising that he could appear in a slightly larger role in a second Alita film thanks to his post.
Jai shared a photo of himself wearing a full motion-capture suit and helmet with his face covered in black dots - which movie production fans will know is used for motion-capturing facial movement - and captioned the post "testing my new pair of rollerblades".

Several of the actor's followers questioned whether Jai is working on another Battle Angel film, with one writing "Alita??!" and another commenting, "Hold on!? Is Alita sequel has been approved?"
A third said: "I noticed you for one second in the first movie and no one believed me(because apparently we don't know how to press the rewind button) so now I'm stoked!"
Adding further fuel to the speculation is the fact that Justice League star Joe Manganiello has posted a very similar image of himself in mo-cap get-up, in what appears to be the same room, earlier this week on his own Instagram account, saying, "And that's a wrap! ...but of what...?"
Of course with both stars a part of the DC Universe, with Jai starring as Captain Boomerang in upcoming movie The Suicide Squad and Joe playing Deathstroke in Justice League - which is of course getting a Zack Snyder cut in 2021 - it could be that their work is related to DC.
But Alita: Battle Angel fans will definitely be holding out hope that this is proof that a sequel is in the works.

Fans of the film, which is based on a Japanese cyberpunk manga series, have been campaigning for a sequel for some time now and star Christoph Waltz has admitted that he's "disappointed" by the lack of news about one.
"Of course I would [return for a sequel]!" he said. "But, you know, I'm as wise as you are. I haven't heard anything and I'm a little disappointed and surprised that I haven't heard a thing so far, because I know that it has followers."
