'Suicide Squad' Star Jai Courtney Got Naked and Chased David Ayer on Set
As it turns out, Jared Leto wasn’t the only member of the Suicide Squad terrorizing his co-workers. Jai Courtney, who played Captain Boomerang, also got into the act. It happened when the movie’s director, David Ayer, dropped by without an invitation.
“Well, he used to pay visits to us in our trailers, like at base camps,” Courtney told Conan O’Brien on Conan Thursday night. “And we would be, you’re shooting a big movie and it takes a lot of time to get things done, chilling out. And he would just kind of rock up uninvited and came into my trailer one day. And I must have not had any clothes on.”
“He comes in,” continued Courtney. “And, look, I’m an impulsive dude. So I just kind of, I went after him. And Jay Hernandez, who plays Diablo in the movie, I could hear behind me saying ‘Sic ’em, boy.’ And it just — and you got to go with one of these things.”
Conan then showed a picture of Courtney in that very moment chasing Ayer around. “I’ll have to chat with the producers after this,” Courtney said with a laugh. “Yeah, yeah, yeah, we’ll let you know who [gave us the photo] and you can pay them back and we’ll have them on and they’ll humiliate you again,” O’Brien responded.
