‘Succession’ Star Sarah Snook Is Very Excited for You to Meet the Roys’ ‘Blue Blood’ Rivals

Sunday’s episode of HBO’s “Succession” will see the Roys spend a weekend with their mortal enemies, the Pierces, as they attempt to play nice in order to acquire the rival family’s news network, PGM, to add to the Waystar Royco portfolio.

And Sarah Snook, who plays Siobhan “Shiv” Roy on the media-empire drama, can’t wait for you to see this particular installment, which “really ratchets up the stakes and has some great writing and great circumstances.”

“In Episode 5, we meet the very blue blood, old money, media family that is a rival to the Roys,” Snook told TheWrap. “And it was one of the most amazing episodes to shoot because we had this band of extraordinarily talented actors just come in for this one episode as guests.”

“And it was as if they had existed our whole lives, I guess,” she continued. “It created a history of reality between the Roys and the Pierces that, it just expanded the world so much and made it so real and I can’t wait for people to see that episode.”

Readers can watch a sneak peek of the episode above, which features some of the big-name guest stars that Snook is referring to, like Cherry Jones, who plays Nan Pierce. The matriarch of the Pierce family, Nan is obviously reluctant to hand over the left-leaning PGM to the Roys, the owners of the fictional Fox News-esque network ATN.

And there is the reappearance of Rhea Jarrell (Holly Hunter), who made her debut in Episode 204 as the CEO of PGM who Kendall (Jeremy Strong) and Logan (Brian Cox) first approach about making a deal.

“Succession” airs Sundays at 9/8c on HBO.
