Cue the "Succession" theme song. HBO's family drama, which wraps its third season Sunday (9 EST/PST), garnered the most Critics Choice Awards mentions among the television nominations, revealed Monday.

The series is a contender in eight categories, some of which pit the stars against each other. Onscreen father and son Brian Cox (Logan Roy) and Jeremy Strong (Kendall Roy) will battle for best actor in a drama series when the awards ceremony airs Jan. 9 (The CW and TBS, 7 EST/PST). Three of the series stars – Nicholas Braun (Greg Hirsch), Kieran Culkin (Roman Roy) and Matthew Macfadyen (Tom Wambsgans) – will compete for best supporting actor. Sarah Snook (Shiv Roy) and J. Smith-Cameron (Gerri Kellman) will go head-to-head for best supporting actress.

"Succession" home base HBO and its streaming service HBO Max (launched in May 2020) lead the networks and platforms with a total of 29 nominations. Other series that racked up multiple nods include: "Evil" (5), "Mare of Easttown" (5), "Only Murders in the Building" (4), "Ted Lasso" (4), "The Good Fight (4), "This Is Us (4) and "WandaVision" (4).

The movies nominated in the Critics Choice Awards' film categories will be announced Monday. Here is the full list of television nominees:
