What can you watch on Peacock besides that Chief's game? Here are 45 must-see shows, movies

So now you’re a Peacock subscriber for another month and you’re wondering what to do with it.

I’m here to help.

There was much consternation over the Kansas City Chiefs-Miami Dolphins NFL playoff game streaming exclusively on Peacock. An outrage! Unfair! How can a company that paid $110 million for the rights for this one game stoop so low as to try to get its money back?

I don’t remember everything about Mrs. Hatcher’s 12th-grade civics class, but I don’t remember free NFL playoff games as being guaranteed in the Bill of Rights.

Is it greedy? Of course it’s greedy! But if you think maybe people got so fed up they decided to sit out the game, no such luck. More than 23 million people watched the game, which was the most-streamed live event in U.S. history. People will do anything to watch the NFL.

Expect more of the same next season, emphasis on more.

Some people have bragged online that they canceled their Peacock subscription the minute the game was over. That’s fine. But you still get a month of the service. So in the meantime, here are some movies and TV shows on Peacock that are worth watching before your subscription runs out.

What shows are on Peacock?

'Poker Face'

Great show, sort of like Natasha Lyonne’s take on “Columbo.” Speaking of. …

'Columbo'

If you know, you know. And you should know.

'The Office'

Did people love this show as much when it was on the air? Probably. It lasted a while. I like Ricky Gervais’ original take, but this got really good.

'Brooklyn Nine-Nine'

Andre Braugher’s untimely death lends a poignancy to a really funny show.

'Parks and Recreation'

So good. Nick Offerman for president.

'Yellowstone'

I plan to getting around to watching this someday, once I’ve seen all the other shows and movies and read all the books.

'Modern Family'

Kind of a JV “Arrested Development,” which is not the slight it sounds like. It’s really funny, at least early on.

The various 'Real Housewives' shows

Certainly sets a tone.

'House'

Hugh Laurie goes American, and grumpy. It’s fun.

'Scrubs'

There was a time when broadcast TV shows were, you know, good.

'Downton Abbey'

Classes up the joint.

'Roseanne'

Before the, um, troubles, this was a great, almost revolutionary show.

'30 Rock'

Pound for pound, one of the funniest shows on TV back in the day.

'Everybody Loves Raymond'

Eh. It was OK. People loved it, though.

'Ozzie and Harriet'

As old school as it gets.

'Everybody Hates Chris'

The Chris Rock story, as told in a delightful sitcom.

'Alfred Hitchcock Presents'

Essential TV. Seriously.

'The Munsters'

After-school reruns were a staple of my youth. And the theme song rocks.

'Girls5Eva'

Great premise, iffy execution.

'The Carol Burnett Show'

There’s a reason people gave her a huge standing ovation at the Emmy Awards. This show is that reason.

'We Are Lady Parts'

It’s just funny, OK? And inclusive. And funny.

'Saturday Night Live'

Defines hit or miss, but that’s what you get when you’ve been on the air since the Gerald Ford administration.

'Rutherford Falls'

“Parts of it are laugh-out-loud funny, others intriguing,” one critic said. That critic was me.

'New Girl'

Hey, Prince was on it one time.

What movies are on Peacock?

'Sign o’ the Times'

Speaking of Prince. … Excellent concert film.

'The Holdovers'

Great movie, a sure bet for lots of Oscar nominations.

The 'Harry Potter' movies

They’ve made $7.7 billion. The NFL ought to get a piece of that.

'The Equalizer'

Denzel!

'Ocean’s Eleven'

The good one.

'The Wolf of Wall Street'

Fantastic movie. Can’t recommend watching with parents or children. At all.

'Twilight'

They’re terrible! People love them anyway!

'Hell or High Water'

An absolutely brilliant movie that you should watch right now. Go on, do it!

'Do the Right Thing'

Spike Lee’s best film, one of the best ever.

'BlacKkKlansman'

I liked this a lot, though it’s from Spike Lee’s cram-everything-into-it later period.

'Hoop Dreams'

Typically lands atop the list of best documentaries ever.

'Freaky'

Good movie you’ve never heard of.

'Five Nights at Freddy’s'

I mean, I don’t want to see it. But a lot of people did.

'The Black Phone'

Hugely underrated horror film. The short story is good, too.

'Donnie Darko'

See it.

The 'Shrek' movies

Hey, the first couple were good.

'Madagascar'

I’m Alex. THE Alex.

'Wallace & Gromit: The Curse of the Were-Rabbit'

Excellent, but where’s “The Wrong Trousers?” It’s a masterpiece.

'How the Grinch Stole Christmas'

The original cartoon. Accept no substitutes.

'Tucker & Dale vs. Evil'

Pretty swell horror-movie satire, replete with rednecks.

'Bronson'

Tom Hardy’s greatest performance, up there with anybody’s best.
