Sturgill Simpson has announced a special, limited-run tour to benefit Gold Star families of the Army’s Special Forces. The tour also comes in support of Simpson’s upcoming album, Sound & Fury, which drops this Friday.

A Gold Star is a family member who has lost a loved one in military service, and the six-date tour will donate 100% of the net proceeds from the shows to the Special Forces Foundation. The non-profit organization is dedicated to supporting Green Beret soldiers and their families in the unfortunate event that their service member doesn’t come home.

Simpson’s six-date trek kicks off on September 29th in West Hollywood at the Troubadour, and ends on October 8th in Asbury Park, New Jersey at The Stone Pony. It gets underway just two days after the release of Sound & Fury, Simpson’s highly anticipated album that comes paired with a Netflix anime film of the same name.

There’s also a chance to celebrate the release of Sound & Fury with Simpson himself. If you purchase the album at Amoeba Music in Hollywood on September 26th, you will receive a wristband guaranteeing entrance to a 5:00 p.m. signing with Simpson, as well as a screening of the anime that evening at The ArcLight Cinema.

Another screening of the anime is scheduled at the IFC Theater in New York, NY, on October 3rd. All pre-orders of the album through Simpson’s official web store include an invitation to attend one of these special events on a first come, first served basis.

From the album, we’ve already heard the alt-electro lead single, “Sing Along”, which was shared along with a clip of the Netflix anime. Check that out below, after which you’ll also Simpson’s complete tour schedule. Tickets can be found here.
