Bilt Rewards CEO Ankur Jain married former WWE wrestler and creator of KNOCKOUT Erika Hammond in Egypt over the weekend, treating guests to a four-day celebration that culminated in a ceremony and reception at the base of the Great Pyramids of Giza.

“We’re New Yorkers and there's something so special about being in a completely different world environment," the groom, who grew up visiting Egypt, tells PEOPLE. "So we decided, our wedding is about having a moment together to celebrate the new beginning, having a really special party with our friends somewhere where you're in a different world."

“We're not traditional wedding people,” says Jain. “Why do you have to spend $20,000 on flowers? It doesn’t make sense. And none of that should matter when you're getting an opportunity to sit and have dinner at the base of the pyramids!”

Day two of the festivities was an Ancient-Egypt x Met Gala themed dinner at the not-yet-opened Grand Egyptian Museum, featuring traditional performances and aerial dancers. Event management was by Vertex Events. while Olivia Burrows Sutherland handled social.

“We wanted the vibe to be kind of like the Met Gala's Egypt section, but in the real Egyptian area, where you've got one of the largest statues of the Pharaoh Ramesses II in the middle of the hall,” says Jain.

The bride's wedding glam was by Kelly Dawn of Dawn Artist Agency, with stylists Yasmine Kenawi and Margot Zamet helping with fashion. Rahul Mishra designed Hammond's wedding gown, and her bridal jewelry was customized by Ajour Consultancy and Louis Diamonds. She wore Rene Caovilla shoes throughout the weekend, and for the afterparty, chose a dress by Grete Henriette with jewelry by Nado's Jewellery.

“It was important to me to draw inspiration and celebrate my fiancé’s Indian culture, ancient Egyptian culture, and Western traditions,” says Hammond of the gold-embroidered bridal gown by Indian designer Rahul Mishra. “Since we weren't doing an Indian wedding, I wanted a little bit of Indian inspiration, mixed with a Cleopatra feel.”

The big event was held at a specially constructed event site in front of the Sphinx at the base of the Great Pyramids of Giza.

"There were a couple of moments when I looked at Erika and realized it was me and my wife standing in front of the pyramids, and I had to get my bearings," the groom shares. "We were in the most magical place in human history to celebrate the most magical moment in our lives."
