Studiocanal’s Tandem Prods. Enlists Jayson Rothwell For Ken Follett’s ‘Code to Zero’ Adaptation

PARIS — Studiocanal’s outfit Tandem Productions has tapped Jayson Rothwell to write a modern-day adaptation of Ken Follett’s “Code to Zero.”

Rothwell will pen the screenplay for an eight-part drama series, transposing the action from the Cold War era to today’s global war against terror.

“Code to Zero” is being exec produced by Tim Halkin and Jim Gillespie. Studiocanal will handle international sales.

The international series will mark the third collaboration between Ken Follett and Tandem, following two Emmy Award-winning series: “The Pillars of the Earth” and “World Without End.”

“I’m very pleased to have Tandem Productions adapting another of my books for television after the wonderful job they did with ‘The Pillars of the Earth’ and ‘World Without End,'” said Follett.

“Jayson Rothwell’s modernization of ‘Code to Zero’ makes my story even more relevant for our world as it is today, while at the same time protecting my characters and the essence of the story. I am certain that this series will resonate for audiences around the world and that my readers will love this adaptation.”

Halkin, Tandem Productions’ managing director, said: “Jayson has truly embraced the creative support from our team, Gina Marcheschi, Tandem’s EVP of development, and Jim Gillespie, our executive producer, who had the idea to bring Ken Follett’s wonderful book into the present day.”

Rothwell is currently writing “Zodiac” for LeVision Pictures and has “40 Thieves” set up at Fox.
