Student art exhibit to be displayed at Grayson Gallery

May 22—GRAYSON — The annual East Carter High School Student Art Exhibition will open with a reception from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the Grayson Gallery and Art Center.

"This will be a special Grayson Memory Days show as it coincides with the Grayson Area Chamber of Commerce's annual festival, now in its 53rd year and free to the public," Gallery Director Dan Click said.

Students of Arts Educator Heather Berry of East Carter High School will present up to 50 pieces of original works in a multitude of media. In addition, local student-musicians Price Harris and Levi Fields will perform. Light refreshments will be provided by Catering by Sheila Marie.

"With all the other festivities happening in town, everyone is encouraged to check out local restaurants, food vendors and even the Grayson Fire Department for full meals and drinks," Click said.

The Grayson Fire Department will offer an extra-special meal in memory of the late Duane Suttles, a firefighter and the former Grayson City Clerk, Click said. The department is on Third Street, one block away from the gallery.

In addition, The Party Bus Band will present a free concert at 8 p.m. on the GO Radio (WUGO/WGOH) Stage on Main Street. Click said those interested in the concert are welcome to meet at the gallery and walk two blocks to the show.

The gallery is at 301 E. Third St.
