Stranger Things star Millie Bobby Brown has teased her "badass" character in Godzilla vs Kong, explaining that her character has "grown up" since the last movie.

The actress debuted as Madison Russell in 2019's Godzilla: King of the Monsters, and it seems we'll see a very different version of her in the upcoming sequel.

"So, five years have gone by and Madison has grown up," Brown explained to Collider. "It's definitely a coming-of-age story for her.

"Her storyline has definitely evolved greatly in the way she deals with things, her attitude towards life, how much more stronger of a person [she is].

"Really trying to follow in her mother's footsteps as well as strength wise she's becoming more strong, more independent and understanding what she needs to do. Five years are gone by and she's basically a badass."

Godzilla vs Kong recently debuted its action-packed first trailer, which shows the two giant monsters clash in epic fashion.

The official synopsis reads: "In a time when monsters walk the Earth, humanity's fight for its future sets Godzilla and Kong on a collision course that will see the two most powerful forces of nature on the planet collide in a spectacular battle for the ages.

"As Monarch embarks on a perilous mission into uncharted terrain and unearths clues to the Titans' origins, a human conspiracy threatens to wipe the creatures, both good and bad, from the face of the earth forever."

Alongside Brown, the movie stars Alexander Skarsgård, Kyle Chandler, Eiza González, Rebecca Hall, Shun Oguri, Julian Dennison and Demián Bichir.

Godzilla vs Kong is coming soon to the UK and will be released in cinemas and on HBO Max on March 26 in the US.

Godzilla: King of the Monsters is available now on Blu-ray, DVD and 4K.
