‘Stranded With a Million Dollars’ Preview: Castaways Stop Being Polite and Start Getting Real

MTV’s new reality series Stranded With a Million Dollars seeks to find out what happens when people stop being polite … and start fighting over how they’re going to survive on a deserted island. The show drops 10 contestants on an island with the titular money — which they get to keep if they can last 40 days in the wild. As you’ll see in the exclusive first look above, however, the contestants can also spend the money on much-needed supplies, which are delivered by drone — but everything is ridiculously expensive (think $30,000 for a tent).

Here the supply in question is a machete, but the group is divided as to whether or not they really need to lay out precious cash to buy one. Because all decisions to make purchases must be made by a majority of the group, it all comes down to Michael, a former Eagle Scout, to break the tie. Whichever way he decides, Michael will make some of his fellow castaways mad — and that’s sure to make his stay on the island less than relaxing.

Stranded With a Million Dollars premieres Tuesday, Feb. 21, at 10 p.m. on ET.
