The Kardashian star and the rapper's daughter Stormi is “the perfect mixture” of her parents

Makeup mogul Kylie Jenner and rapper Travis Scott became parents for the first time in 2018 when they welcomed their daughter, Stormi Webster.

Jenner was only 20 years old when Stormi was born, but becoming a mom was something she felt she was always meant to do. “I used to have dreams, even at a young age, of having kids, like actual dreams,” she told James Charles in a joint YouTube video in October 2018. “It was just a part of my life that I was craving. I don’t feel like a different person. I just look at life a little differently.”

The ways Stormi has changed Jenner’s point of view include making her “think more about the future” and being “less selfish.” She told her sister Kim Kardashian in an ES Magazine 2018 interview that motherhood was “such an amazing experience.”

It also had a similar effect on Jenner’s ex. The “Sicko Mode” performer says his daughter has been a “major inspiration” in his work and life. "Fatherhood influences my job. It has a huge impact,” he told i-D in February 2021. "I realized my job is way more important than what I thought because of her. More responsibility, you know? You've got to use that properly … I don't live for myself anymore.”

Now that Stormi’s personality is more developed, Jenner loves the person she’s becoming. “Not only do I think she‘s the cutest thing in the world,” she wrote about her daughter on Instagram in July 2019. “She’s got the sweetest, smartest, most special little soul.”

From the surprise announcement of her birth to epic birthday parties and lots of twinning moments with her parents, here’s everything to know about Kylie Jenner and Travis Scott’s daughter, Stormi Webster.

Jenner and Scott kept the pregnancy a secret

Jenner didn’t announce her pregnancy until after Stormi’s birth, but she shared some insight into what the journey looked like after the fact.

"I knew for myself I needed to prepare for this role of a lifetime in the most positive, stress free and healthy way I knew how,” she wrote on Instagram, explaining that she “knew her baby would feel every stress” if she went through it in public.

She called her private pregnancy “the most beautiful, empowering and life changing experience” and thanked her friends and family for supporting her and keeping her news a secret.

Jenner gave birth to her baby girl on Feb. 1, 2018, and confirmed the news with a message and the touching short film titled “To Our Daughter" three days later — which just so happened to be the same day as the Super Bowl.

The sweet 11-minute video featured special moments from Jenner’s pregnancy, including clips of her and Scott together, interviews with friends and family, snaps of the ultrasound and baby shower, and the first glimpse of Kim's daughter Chicago West.

Stormi was delivered at Cedars Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles, weighing 8 lbs., 9 oz.

Stormi’s name has a unique origin story

Jenner revealed her daughter's name two days after announcing her birth, writing on Instagram, “Stormi Webster,” and an angel emoji alongside the first photo of the baby — a close-up of her tiny hand. While Stormi's last name isn't Jenner or Scott, it's from the rapper's real name, Jacques Webster.

As for the unique first name, Jenner admitted there was some disagreement over who came up with it. “Travis thinks he thought of [Stormi’s name],” Jenner said. “But it was me. I remember the whole thing, but he swears he made her name up.”

The Lip Kit entrepreneur explained that she made a list of “nature names — like weather, Earth-inspired,” which included Storm.

“I said, ‘I kind of want an “ie,” like me.’ So then I did Stormie,” she explained. ”I bought custom things for her that said her name, ‘ie,’ ” However, she later made a split-second decision that changed her daughter’s name forever.

“I was finalizing the name. They were like, ‘How do you want to spell it?’ And I was like, ‘S-T-O-R-M-I.’ “ she recalled. “They were like, ‘You sure?’ I said, ‘Yeah, just an I.’ Literally right then and there, I just changed it to an I.”

Stormi made her first appearance on a red carpet in August 2019. The then-2-year-old accompanied her mom and dad to Scott’s Netflix documentary Look Mom I Can Fly premiere. She wore a camo matching set for the special occasion, while Jenner chose an all-white ensemble and Scott looked sharp in a brown suit.

Over the years, she’s attended other Hollywood events. In June 2021, Stormi supported her dad in New York City when he was honored at the 72nd annual Parsons Benefit. One year later, she arrived at the 2022 Billboard Music Awards with her parents wearing a white one-shoulder dress and matching booties.

On Feb. 2, 2022, Jenner and Scott welcomed their second child — a baby boy originally named Wolf, later changed to Aire. The pair long looked forward to giving Stormi a sibling, and they were thrilled when Jenner got pregnant with baby No. 2.

"She is beyond excited," a source told PEOPLE in August 2021. "She has been wanting to give Stormi a sibling for a while. She loves being a mom.”

Jenner included Stormi in sharing the news with her family. In a pregnancy video posted on Instagram, Stormi can be seen handing Jenner’s mom, Kris Jenner, an envelope filled with ultrasound photos.

"Wait a second ... are you pregnant?” the matriarch asks her daughter. “Stormi, we're gonna have a baby! This is one of the happiest days of my life!"

Stormi immediately took to her duties as big sis. "[Stormi has been] helping out with [her] baby brother," a source told PEOPLE. "She is the cutest big sister.”

The toddler was also excited by the idea of having a little brother for years before Aire entered the picture. In May 2022, while celebrating her nephew Psalm’s birthday, Jenner shared a video of Stormi saying, “Hi, Psalmy!” and gazing lovingly at him. In the clip, someone asked her if she wanted a baby brother, too, with the little one exclaiming, “Yes!”

"Omgg this video of my baby when she was just 1 year old with Psalm saying she wants a baby brother," Jenner wrote in the caption. "Wow, time flies.”

She's no stranger to the spotlight

From being on set of The Kardashians to filming a Kylie Baby ad with her mom to supporting her dad backstage at his concerts, Stormi is used to the limelight. Jenner discussed grappling with raising her daughter in the public eye in February 2020.

"I think about it a lot because the world is just so crazy now,” Jenner told Harper's Bazaar. “I'm just trying my best, even though she's still little, to remind her how blessed we are and that this isn't normal … People want to take pictures. I think she would feel differently if I was always covering her face like, 'Don't look!' "

Stormi is the "perfect mixture" of her famous parents

From twinning in matching outfits with her mom to having “daddy’s hair,” Stormi shares similarities with both of her parents. When Ellen DeGeneres asked whether Stormi takes more after Jenner or Scott, the mom of two said both.

She is the perfect mixture of the both of us,” Jenner said on The Ellen DeGeneres Show in September 2019. “She’s definitely like a little rager, she loves music.”

Kris, however, admitted seeing more of her daughter in her granddaughter. “She is like a little Kylie, it’s really wild,” she added. “Sometimes she looks at you and you think I have to remind myself, ‘No, that’s my granddaughter, not Kylie.’ You know, for two seconds, you’re starting to lose it.”

She could end up following in either of her parents’ footsteps

Stormi has already dabbled in both of her parents’ industries.

In 2023, she made a cameo on her dad’s song “Thank God.” After he raps, "Storm's a minor, but you know she livin' major,” her voice can be heard responding, “That’s right, Daddy!” The year prior, Jenner posted a TikTok of Stormi lip-syncing to Scott’s song “Mamacita.”

On the other end, Stormi loves makeup and fashion, just like her mom. Jenner even brought her on a work trip to London, where the duo got a tour of the Kylie Cosmetics setup at Harrod’s. "It means so much to me that my daughter ... could be here and see these displays with me and travel the world," Jenner said in a confessional on The Kardashians.

Jenner also shared that Stormi has a future as a makeup mogul if she wants it. "Stormi is my legacy,” she told tmrw magazine in May 2021. “I'm raising her to be smart and kind and driven. Maybe she will take over Kylie Cosmetics one day? Only if she wants to.”

On The Kardashians, Jenner told Anastasia "Stassie" Karanikolaou wishes she hadn’t had any cosmetic work done as a teen now that she’s the mom of a little girl. ”I'd be heartbroken if she wanted to get her body done at 19," Jenner said. "I want to be the best mom and best example for her, and like I wish I could be her, do it all differently. I wouldn't touch anything."

She discussed how she used to be self-conscious about her ears. “For five years, I never wore an up-do," she recalled. "And then I had Stormi, and she has my ears and it made me realize how much I love them … Now I wear an updo to every carpet.”

Scott also wants his daughter to feel empowered and secure in who she is. "I feel like it's way more important now to protect our young Black daughters, women," he said during a .WAV RADIO interview in October 2020. "Making sure they have the knowledge of just how to carry yourself, how to move in this world, how to be strong, how to not even be scared to take that risk on any idea."

Jenner and Scott are pros at co-parenting

Though Jenner and Scott are no longer romantically involved, Jenner insists they’re still “like best friends."

“We stay connected and coordinated," she told Harper's Bazaar in February 2020. "I think about [my parents] in situations … what they would do. They were very hands-on with me, and I want the same."

That’s been the case ever since they broke up. An insider told PEOPLE that the plan was always for Stormi to “spend equal time” with each parent.

“They are both great parents and will co-parent,” the source explained. “They don’t want their split to affect Stormi too much … As soon as they felt they couldn’t figure out their issues, they decided to separate so their disagreements won’t affect Stormi.”

Stormi has lots of interests and talents

Stormi has tried many hobbies and activities, and she’s proven pretty talented at some of them! At almost 3 years old, she hopped on a snowboard in Aspen, Colorado, and successfully made it down the slope. She also showed off her impressive swimming skills when she took a dip on her own without floaties at age 2.

Most recently, in August 2023, she tried her hand at baking, and her dad shared photos from the fun afternoon on his Instagram Story. She smiled at the camera with a face covered in flour while her hands were in a bowl of dough.

Stormi does have to be careful in the kitchen, however, because the little KarJenner is allergic to nuts. In a February 2020 video diary for Harper’s Bazaar, Jenner shared that she keeps a “peanut-free household” because her daughter is allergic. “All nuts, actually, not just peanuts,” she clarified.
