President Joe Biden leaves after stopping at Just Q'in BBQ restaurant in the Walnut Hills neighborhood of Cincinnati after speaking on a $1.6 billion federal investment in the long-awaited upgrade of the Brent Spence Bridge, Wednesday, Jan. 4, 2023, in Covington, Ky. The bridge spans the Ohio River connecting Ohio and Kentucky. Biden was joined by Ohio Gov. Mike DeWine, Kentucky Gov. Andy Beshear, Sen. Mitch McConnell and other state and local leaders.

Just Q’in BBQ owner Matt Cuff said he spoke to the president about his views on hiring people who have barriers to employment.

“His background is not dissimilar from mine," the restaurant owner told The Enquirer. "We talked about how he had to kind of pull himself up, so he related to a lot of the things that not only I've dealt with in my life but the people that we employ have to deal with on a regular basis."
