Stop Teasing: What We Know So Far About ‘American Horror Story’ Season 6

The FX anthology series American Horror Story just released a small, but significant, look at its upcoming season with this mysterious logo.

The 6-meets-question-mark symbol makes sense for the show’s sixth season, but other details remain scarce. Here’s what we know so far.

Lady Gaga is returning. Her role as The Countess on Season 5, AHS: Hotel, earned her a Golden Globe, so that’s a pretty good reason to try a second round. Cheyenne Jackson, another Hotel alum, confirmed on Twitter that he too will be returning, as did three-season vet Angela Bassett, who has said she might be playing a psychic this time around.

And while it’s almost certain that Sarah Paulson will return — she has appeared in every previous season, once even pulling, ahem, double duty as conjoined twins — she hasn’t yet confirmed it. Jessica Lange, on the other hand, has confirmed that she won’t be in Season 6 or any future seasons, for that matter.

Past AHS seasons have taken place in an insane asylum, a freak show, a hotel … so where will Season 6 take us? FX CEO John Landgraf vaguely hinted that it will be set in the present but will include flashbacks.

As for the theme, some Twitter users are speculating that Season 6 will make full use of the number 6 and include a storyline about the Antichrist. It may even revisit the very first season, AHS: Murder House, which concluded with the birth of the Antichrist.
