Stone Island has linked up with Kevlar’s consumer research and development team to roll out the sixth installment of its ongoing Prototype Research_Series.
Launched in 2016, the Prototype Research_Series is a collection of limited-edition garments made with experimental treatments and fabrications. Capsules are usually limited to 100 pieces and are often conceptualised through Stone Island’s research and experimentation program.
For Prototype Research_Series 06, the Italian stalwart has created a new outerwear piece which embodies the durability and thermal stability of Kevlar and combines it with a dévoré printing process that breaks down the cotton yarn to reveal a unique yellow core. The jacket is then rounded out with a textured resin treatment and a special PFC-free, water repellent finish.
The Prototype Research_Series 06 is currently on view at Milan Design Week from June 7 through to June 12.
