Stevie Nicks Reveals Why Christine McVie Really Left Fleetwood Mac

Legendary rock band Fleetwood Mac reunited for the first time in 16 years for its On With the Show world tour. “The Insider With Yahoo” co-anchor Louis Aguirre spoke to Stevie Nicks and Mick Fleetwood and found out the real reason singer/songwriter Christine McVie left the band back in 1998. Stevie said, “She dumped everything so she would not have any reason to get on a plane and come back to the United States, and she didn’t ever come back to the United States.” Louis pressed, “Is that really why she left the band because she was afraid to fly?” Stevie explained, “That’ll do it, if you’re flying every night, and you’re afraid to fly … you can’t go on the bus if you’re one of the lead singers,” Stevie continued. “Chris was not going on the bus, so there was no other answer for her I don’t think. That’s why she made such a quick and final decision.” Stevie and Mick both never imagined that Christine would rejoin the band and go on tour, but they welcomed her as if she was family. Christine said, “I was so warmly and affectionately received back into the band like the prodigal daughter or something.” Check out this video to see how Stevie and Mick are feeling going back on tour in their late 60s, and tune in to “The Insider With Yahoo” for the latest in entertainment news.
