Earlier this offseason superstar Kevin Durant requested a trade from the Brooklyn Nets organization citing that General Manager Sean Marks and head coach Steve Nash were not invested in winning, Nash responded during the team’s NBA media day.

When asked about the situation Nash responded, “Families go through things like this. You go through adversity. You go through disagreements.”

Nash defended the team’s efforts last year without their stars, “At the end of the year, I think it gets blown a little out of proportion because you lose,” Nash said. “So then everything is heightened. Everyone is emotional. Everyone is frustrated. Now looking back we did a lot of great things last year. We survived a stretch of the season without our three stars.”

Durant spoke with reporters about the situation stating that he’s “getting older; I want to be in a place that’s stable, trying to build a championship culture, so I had some doubts about that.”
