Steve Albini, Nirvana engineer, dead at 61: Report

CLEVELAND (WJW) — A music legend has died at the age of 61, according to multiple reports.
The news that Steve Albini —a recording engineer for the likes of Nirvana, Pixies and PJ Harvey along with fronting the bands Big Black and Shellac — has passed away was confirmed by a representative from his Chicago recording studio to Variety.

It was confirmed by music website Pitchfork that he died of a heart attack.
The outspoken rocker will forever be known for his work on two of the best rock records of all time: Nirvana’s “In Utero” and Pixies’ “Surfer Rosa.”
It was not clear when Albini died or if he had been sick previously. Funeral information has not yet been released.
