Stephen A. Smith has seemingly blasted fellow sports pundit Jason Whitlock, calling the journalist and talking head a “fat b***ard” and deeming him a product of “the devil.”

During the latest episode of The Stephen A. Smith Show on YouTube, the Hollis, Queens, native addressed growing dissent amongst members of sports media, taking what many attributed as shots aimed at Whitlock. Whitlock has infamously been critical of the ESPN First Take host in the past.

In a clip shared on social media, Smith mentions an unnamed person he’s unfond of, stating that he has a hatred towards the person in question. “There’s a lot of people out there who want me to address other names,” the 55-year-old said. “There’s one particular person who will remain nameless but I will not deny it – I think he is a fat, no-good b***ard who I despise to the core,” he added.

While Smith insisted that he doesn’t mean to wish the unnamed person harm, he notes that he’s not referring to Marcellus Wiley, a former NFL star and longtime sports analyst whom has discussed Smith on his own YouTube show Never Shut Up.

“It is not Marcellus Wiley that I am talking about,” the NBA insider was quick to clarify, adding that many people would likely know the unnamed figure in his crosshairs. “It ain’t hard to figure out who I am talking about.”

Smith also said that he was not referring to any personalities that he worked with on First Take, leading many to point to Whitlock, who last worked at Fox Sports’ FS1, as the intended target of his ire. “He has made a career out of wishing others the worst. And no, I’m not talking about Marcellus Wiley again. I’m not talking about my former colleagues on First Take.”

The New York Times Bestselling author continued, adding, “No, not talking about them. They ain’t fat b***ards who are seeds of the devil, wishing nothing but Black folks harm. But I will leave that for another day when the time is right.”

Smith’s comments come after Whitlock denigrated him on multiple occasions, critiquing his multi-million annual salary and accusing him of backstabbing his coworkers, such as former ESPN employee Max Kellerman. Whitlock recently claimed that new ESPN First Take analyst Shannon Sharpe was distruthful about the circumstances surrounding his split with Skip Bayless and FS1’s Undisputed.

“I know what happened at FS1. I’m gonna say this speaking more specifically to Shannon Sharpe. Cut it out,” the 56-year-old said last month. “Shannon Sharpe is trying to point a finger at a Fox executive or two, trying to smear them and put pressure on them to drum up a media storm of someone needing to be replaced.”
