Stephen Sanchez’s latest album, Angel Face, opens with a few piano keys and warm vocals as he romantically unfolds the story of a man in love. It’s a softness that transports the listener back in time, reminiscent to an age of Elvis, where the slow ease of his melodies clashes with the uptempo rhythms of what would later become rock ‘n roll. To accompany the album’s release, the multi-platinum artist has produced live cinematic visuals in partnership with Lenovo, allowing fans to discover the story of his latest album in a new way.

On a stage in Nashville, enveloped in a digital Hollywood Boulevard backdrop, Sanchez appears envisioned as a young Elvis. His hair slicked back, dressed in a broad-shouldered suit and pussy-bow blouse framing his face, he whispers the beginning lyrics to “Something About Her,” before advancing into a set that visually personifies his album. As the set shifts to a velvet curtain, cast in a warm haze, lights shift as he shimmies and twists to the beat of each song, transporting viewers to another era.

“I’m so excited to be partnering with Lenovo to create this visual representation of my music,” said Sanchez. “It’s been so much fun to experiment with new ways to bring the world of Angel Face to life — I can’t wait to take everyone behind the scenes with this live stream.”

This is the fifth year Lenovo has worked with artists for their Limitless Possibilities campaign, a partnership to “help bring their creative visions to life.” In promotion of the newly-released Lenovo Yoga Book 9i and Lenovo Yoga 9i software, the film showcases the capabilities and power behind the new tech, delivering a film worthy of the big screen, brought to you by one that could fit in the palm of your hands.

Sanchez initially found stardom after releasing his song “Until I found You.” He quickly gained a fanbase of more than 27 million viewers on YouTube in 2021, which climbed to 220 million viewers when the music video dropped a year later. Like the latest album, his soft vocals and the song’s romantic Fifties-style melody make the single gravitational. “I was obsessed with the Fifties style when I was growing up. The glamorous cars, movie theaters, mom-and-pop shops,” he tells Rolling Stone. “I romanticized all of its visually stunning colors and sleekness. I wanted to implement that beauty into my dream of being a 1950s singer debuting his ‘hit’ song on the Ed Sullivan Show.”

The latest concert, which was developed using the latest Lenovo and Intel Evo technology and follows the same aesthetic that’s gained him popularity, is truly a work of craftsmanship that echoes the emotional response only music can bring. As Sanchez notes in reflection on his earlier hits, “No matter where this thing takes me, I never want to be any more than the person that I am: a kid who loves his friends and his music.” Safe to say he and Lenovo relayed that sentiment with this film.
