Stephen Colbert’s Wife’s Reaction to Recent Kissing Spree
On The Late Show With Stephen Colbert, Colbert addressed the kissing spree he has been on this week. The first surprise kiss took place on Tuesday with Dame Helen Mirren and the second on Wednesday with Sally Field. But tonight for his opening monologue Colbert decided it was time to address the smooching mayhem that has been taking place. He joked, “So it’s been an eventful week for my face. I’m feeling great about myself.”
The monologue recapped the promiscuous events, and then Colbert said what everyone watching was thinking: “Those were great made-for-TV moments, and when I got home, it made for awkward-silence moments.” He then cleared the air and said his wife was “actually cool with it,” and while that sounds great, it makes you wonder if he’s secretly hoping no one else wants to join the kiss-Colbert train. But Colbert’s wife has a great sense of humor, because the late night host said, “We talked it over, and she is now free to make out with a gentlemen actor of a certain age. I suggested Ian McKellen, and she suggested Paul Rudd.”
The Late Show With Stephen Colbert airs weeknights at 11:35 p.m. on CBS.
