Stephen Colbert’s Hilarious Birthday Presents for Donald Trump
Donald Trump turned 70 on Tuesday. Because the presumptive Republican presidential nominee has giving Stephen Colbert so much material for The Late Show over the past year, Colbert thought he would give Trump a few birthday presents.
The first gift was just a $10 iTunes gift card, because “it’s the exact same thing you give anyone you don’t really know,” Colbert said. The next present was very practical for someone who might be spending winters in Washington, D.C.: a pair of very small gloves. Finally, the Late Show host got Trump what he called a “scented candle,” which was just a wet paper bag full of something with a “pungent” smell. Colbert told the candidate, “Don’t open it. I’ll light it for you and leave it on your doorstep. Just make a wish before you stomp it out.”
