Stephen Colbert’s Final Roast of President Obama in ‘The Werd’

On Thursday’s The Late Show With Stephen Colbert, Stephen reprised his character from The Colbert Report. Though it was technically his “identical twin cousin” for legal reasons, he resurrected his segment “The Word,” which was changed to “Werd,” also for legal reasons.

The conservative pundit character said, “Thanks, Obama. You reminded guys like me of what we stand for. The opposite of whatever you said.” Colbert slammed Obamacare, saying, “He said it was health care. We said it was socialism even though we know it was based on Romneycare.”

Sadly, Colbert’s identity had been so wrapped up in opposing President Obama that he didn’t quite know what to do with Donald Trump in the White House. He said, “Now the Obama era is coming to an end. And on behalf of everyone that opposed you, sir, I say please don’t go.”

The Late Show With Stephen Colbert airs weeknights at 11:35 p.m. on CBS.
