Colbert Trolls 'Old White Guy' Bernie Sanders Over Tone-Deaf Diversity Comments

Stephen Colbert updated a famous quote from Martin Luther King Jr. in the wake of comments made by Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) on Tuesday.

Sanders, who announced that he is running for president, was asked by Vermont Public Radio where he stands in what is shaping up to be the most diverse candidate field yet.

He said:

“We have got to look at candidates not by the color of their skin, not by their sexual orientation or gender and not by their age. I think we have got to try to move us toward a nondiscriminatory society that looks at people based on their abilities, based on what they stand for.”

That led to Colbert giving one of King’s most famous lines a makeover... for an “old white guy.”
