Stephen Colbert and Trevor Noah Have a Lot of Fun After It Looks Like Trump Forgot His Son (Videos)
On Wednesday night, late night talk show hosts had a lot of fun at Donald Trump’s expense after he described his son, Barron, in a way that made a lot of people think he’d temporarily forgotten he existed.
Trump held a press conference Wednesday to announce he is directing the FDA to ban flavored vape juice in response to the recent deaths of several people attributed to vaping. The idea, Trump told reporters, came from First Lady Melania Trump. “She’s got a son. Together. That is a, a beautiful young man, and she feels very very strongly about it,” Trump said.
So it is that Stephen Colbert on “The Late Show” and Trevor Noah on “The Daily Show” could hardly contain themselves after playing clips of the weird moment.

“Nice save, buddy,” Colbert said, switching to his Trump accent. “The uh, first lady has got a son. Together. It’s a mutual son, of course, I’m very involved with the doings of it, and so is the first lady, who is a lovely mother, together, who I love and know her name so well that I won’t waste your time saying it out loud. So… Tim Apple.”
Meanwhile, Noah was incredulous. “She’s… got a son? You mean the son she made with you?” Noah joked. “How on earth does Trump forget that he has a son? He’s like the world’s worst dad, it’s like him and Darth Vader. No, actually that’s wrong. At least Darth Vader claimed his son. If Trump was the dark lord, he’d be like ‘Luke, she is your mother.'”
“But look,” Noah added, “you can’t fault Trump for not being super eager to claim responsibility for his son. I mean the dude has been burned twice.” At which point the screen showed a photo of Eric Trump and Donald Jr.
