Stephen Colbert Slams Congress for Allowing Your Internet History to Be Sold

On Tuesday, House Republicans voted to repeal Internet privacy laws and allow Internet service providers to share customers’ personal information, including browsing history, without their consent. The Late Show With Stephen Colbert host had a lot of thoughts about this decision, and, unsurprisingly, none of them were positive.

Colbert went over some parts of the new law, including the part that “says Internet providers no longer have to protect customer information against hackers and thieves.” He was less than pleased about any of it, including the implications for Washington, D.C., itself, and what he believes is wrong there.

“I guarantee you there is not one person, not one voter of any political stripe anywhere in America who asked for this. No one. No one in America stood up in a town hall and said sir, I demand you let somebody else make money off my shameful desires,” the host said.
